Loarre Castle is considered to be the most important Romanesque fortress in all Spain. It was built at the end of the 11th century on the remains of a Roman fort called "Calagurris Fibularia", on the orders of King Sancho Ramírez I of Aragón.

In 1099, King Sancho Ramírez of Aragón endowed Alquézar with a community of Augustine canons and built a Romanesque collegiate church, which was replaced by a late-Gothic one in the 16th century.

Built in the 17th century on an 11th-centry fort, whose remains still exist, modified in the 19th century (1833 and 1875).

The Parque de la Sierra y Los Cañones de Guara (Guara Mountains and Canyons Park) is the main foothills to the Pyrenees, with an average height of ……(the Guara peak: 2,070mts.), deep canyons in its southern face and limestone crags, such as the Salto de Roldan, Los Mallos de Isun and those at Vadiello.

In what are called the Outer Ranges of the Pyrenees, to the south-east of the town of Jaca, stands the Sierra of San Juan de la Peña, which has been a site of national interest since 1920. This is a magnificent meeting point for outstanding natural, historical and cultural values. Here, you can see the most important monastery in Aragón of the Middle Ages.

The National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido is one of the Network of National Parks. In 1977, it became part of the “Ordesa-Vignemale” Biosphere Reserve.
